Dear Diary,

Well there is a convoy in, some rather large boats. One is an Italian boat run by Auzzies. There are 600 Auzzie Air Flyers in. They sure look funny with their short pants. Our boys and some nurses left with them today for the mainland. Our Capt. Stillwater, 1st St Sgt Ma Low, Sgt. Pargorey, Sgt. Cappy Ricks he”™s (the organist at the movie that used to play with Tommy Tukee) and Sgt. Andy Beck a dancer and painter, also married to a Col. Daughter. Whew what a list. Anyhow they are going back to form a new unit for overseas. Well God bless ”˜em. Just had a call from Jr, McPherson an old patient of mine at old TGH got his leg blowed off while down under fighting. I feel sorry for him; he is married and has twins and just lost

one baby at 147th General Hospital. Boy no mail for ever so long. The latest rumor says some of our mail went “down under” to Auzzie, here”™s hoping it didn”™t go down. Oh me I”™m on nights again, on Section C and D. We have a new group of kids in for training at the 105th the 22 just went out, sure can use ”˜em. We are short of help anyhow. The news states Berlin just underwent an attack by the RAF. The Japs new 14 transport convoy was scattered today on its way to New Guinea. We”™re still hanging on. They are spreading a smoke screen over the city now, rather effective too from where I sit, it looks like I”™m up in the air, well guess I”™m sitting on a windy hill. Jr is going on a three day pass, then for six weeks he is out on commando training. He just came out of the Judo class.
