Dear Diary, I am thankful Jr”™s head is fastened on ”˜cause it”™s a problem to try and keep his gas mask on. Had Thanksgiving dinner at the Wagon Wheel with Gerald. Good dinner too. Turkey, mashed potatoes, giblet gravy, dressing, mashed squash, carrot salad, cranberries, tomatoes, French onion soup sliced carrots, onions and relish, olives on ice, Coca-Cola and pumpkin pie. We ate on the patio. Looking out over Waikiki way at the blue pacific (it was there Jr left his gas mask). We went to the aquarium, then a bus ride out around Diamond Head, it”™s beautiful out there, so clear. We could see two other Isles

from the point also Doris Dukes home. Went back after the gas mask (his other face) yep they had it, thank the Lord and save the gas masks.
Back home, Kam School, raining. Swell ride in a G.I. truck, best bus in the world though. Had a Coca-Cola, listened to radio, had a call from Arlo. So now me goes to bed, good night Diary.
Well I just got a call to go C ward, they have the division in a nice case of ptomaine poisoning from Thanksgiving turkey. Well I got down to see and now we are on A-2, but not for long. Now we are down on A-1 ”“ no blackout, but we move our patients, change beds, put up mosquito bars and give them intravenous injections -in the dark, gee diary are we good feelers. Well off duty at 9:30 p.m. Tired but happy.
