Diary: Friday, November 20, 1942

Friday, November 20, 1942
Dear Diary, Is a year ago today I got here. Went out to Pearl Harbor. But couldn”™t get in so we took to the hills, pretty up there, only the altitude was too high. Yep I went outside this world for few minutes, scared the Sergeant. Then we went to the Good Earth and had a Chinese dinner with Arlo Horton, a boy in the YMCA band one that often plays with the Royal Hawaiian band.
Oh by the way diary that large convoy was knocked out, 23 ships has had some new additions to the Japs. And the African front is getting frontless for Rommel and when the Yanks really get

going, he will be backless. In fact he can be called the little man that wasn”™t there. The four original Ink Spots are going to play and sing up here November 30. Slip would love to see that, boy can ah remember.
