Dear Diary,
Again we have potatoes and I saw an apple and almost had drink of milk. Stayed out until 10 p.m. – the latest since the Blitz. Boy sure was strange. Rain, rain, more rain, but we love it and boy, wind, heat and mosquitoes. Went into a cooler system and brrr was it cold, reminded me of home.
Here”™s one tire that I hope won”™t wear out (cute no?) Oh wouldn”™t you like to get your hands on it? (Just try bud)
Received a letter from the Auzzie, he states he has been doing a lot toward getting this war over and I”™ll bet he ain”™t just a kiddin. After spending two years in England and almost a year in Australia, guess he is getting a mite tired. Went up on the trail with Baby and Miss Wilkie after the band from the YMCA played.

Well the battle for the Solomon”™s is still raging. The WASP went down that was Smokey”™s ship, saw him yesterday he was going down again. He is a gunner on a bomber, things looks black in the Solomon”™s, then they look good said the Japs were retreating yeah, but they went after more help.
