Dear Diary, Flash Extra. We can now get married and stay in the service! Well what”™s going to happen? Another blitz I”™ll betcha. And we are going to have 72 hour passes. Lord what is happening? We have a new Commanding Officer, Colonel Smack and he is 4.0 and I do mean it. I want Lew Ayers for a ward boy since he is in the Army Medical Corp. Anyhow, I put in an order for him and Major Kranson said he would see the Inspector General and put in my request. Gosh,

maybe I should ask for Clark Gable too. Someday. There is a heavy drone of planes overhead, some are dog fighting. I can see them through the office window. Some ships taking off, some in both directions. Received a nice long letter from Mums and Dad.
I devilishly talked the Lt. Doctor, better known as Tony Joe, into buying me some pop. I went down town to try on my suit at the tailors, but as usual they hadn”™t started on it. Four weeks I”™ve waited. Maybe next year I”™ll have it done somewhere else. But I”™ll give them a year”™s grace, no use rushing them, not on Oahu T. H.
Saw “Baby” the trombone player, cute kid. Went to a dance yesterday with Jr and saw Joe, Bill, Baby and a few

others. Some shooting now and then they say it”™s practice “could be” plenty of search lights these nights (practice too we hope.) Blackout again tonight, almost a year of it. Well maybe someday it will stop; if ever it does I”™ll be scared to come out into the street if it”™s lit up. I”™m getting to be quite a cat here, even can see at night.
