Dear Mums and Dad: Received your letter. Boy I thought I would never hear from you and I”™m going to bawl you both out. Do you know mom you didn”™t even put a PS on your letter or add a little on the back of the last page? You know it”™s fun to hunt for a few extra lines and it makes the letter last longer. Now you have been bawled out and now for your Dad -if I ever open up a letter and find you haven”™t even said hello, well it just better not happen again see. Boy Mom, I”™ll bet that didn”™t scare him a bit huh!?
I heard from little Jr. He is JT”™s and my best pal. Just a little kid, but where one is you always find the other. He looks for the world like Johnny. I call him Johnny Mines Jr.
I heard from the boy from Sale, Cheshire England and he keeps reminding me I must come and see him and his parents when the war is over and I am thinking it over, but first must have you two come here. Then I am going to take a shot at Australia and New Zealand. Then I will think about England, (I want to try and work in all those places if possible).
Thanks for paying my registration fee. Did you receive the money order I sent to pay it with?
Say, send me your measurements for a dress. I want to get you a print dress; they are swell shirt waist style and such pretty colors. Also do you want a new hat? They are straw, made somewhat like that grey one you gave me, you know the felt, send me your head size. And I have decided you should let your hair grow longer, please. I like it and it will make your face look fatter, (That”™s an order see). That”™s what I tell the boys here then they have to mind. So!!
Thanks for the clippings. The slacks are cute, but we have coveralls of blue green, really dillys. I am sending you some clippings of various things in separate container, thought they might interest you. Also Dad what is your shirt size? I want to get you a Hawaiian shirt, they are cool and comfortable, wear them either in or out. Hope Uncle Paul likes his job. Well now new. I am looking forward to having Johnny over today.
Say hello to all – AraBelle
