Letter: Saturday, July 4, 1942

Saturday, July 4, 1942
Dear Folks, Well here ”˜tis the 4th of July and nary a fire cracker, thank goodness. I”™m still in the hospital but hope to be out “someday” -when is the question. Johnnie is coming over and we intend to have some fun. Jr got a pass. I want to go horseback riding but he is like an old granny, so suppose I”™ll have to sit quiet like in a show. Gosh, you would think I was a two-year-old, the way he is watching me, always afraid I”™m going to get hurt. But guess he means well. I heard from Jr and he said he sure wishes he were home so he could eat those strawberries you talked about. Also heard from Eva, Helen, Marie and one letter from you. Well Happy Birthday Dad and please start getting your teeth fixed. (That”™s an order!)
Aloha ”“ AraBelle
