LETTER: Sunday, January 4, 1942
Sunday, January 4, 1942
Dear Mums and Dad, A few lines as I”™m in a hurry as I wish this to go out. I”™ve enclosed a money order for part of your hospital bill. I will send more next month as I may get a raise. You tell me how many nurses you have and I will send some little things for them later.
Jr is gone now. The boy that wanted the ring has also been absent for so long a time now. Got a cute leather folder for notes from Mrs. Ditman and a box of soap from Fuesta. Sent Richmond”™s some coconut syrup but it came from Manila and it was two prices over the other as they seem to be running out of so many things here. The Christmas rush cleaned everything out and I mean out. Even the junk and that”™s unusual. Had a fair time New Years; four flyers were here that took part in the Wake bombing. They were so much fun. Well must close. Love to all. Wish someday I would learn to write letters, but Dad and I are alike on that part I guess.
Aloha, AraBelle
PS -I am sending a book, a December issue; I want you to save for me. Of course you may read it, now aren”™t I getting big hearted?
