Thursday, December 25, 1941
Dear Folks, I just got thru listening to the President”™s speech and Winston Churchill. It seems funny for them to be talking about Christmas Eve there when here it was 11:30 am. The Christmas flowers here are all in bloom, they are simply beautiful, especially the double ones -and then there are so many others too. And you should see the orchids. Boy oh boy. They are as big as plates, you know pie plates. The boys here on my ward are busy fixing the Christmas tree and they are really having fun. Please pay the nurse registry bill for me and tell them to send the receipt, if they send them to me. I can”™t understand though why they are asking for it now ”˜cause it”™s not due until March 1, 1942. But I guess they changed their minds per usual. Oh yes, I finally heard from Slip, he is OK and will try to see me soon. I got a Christmas card from Aunt Mae and Polly Sinners. The pin is my nurse”™s pin and I also wear a bar which I”™ll send next time.
Love to all, AraBelle
