“Cinderella Liberty” Liberty in which one must return to ship by midnight.
“Liberty” Shore leave of 48 hours or less.
“Furlough” Any liberty lasting over 72 hours.
“French Leave” To leave a ship without permission.
“AWOL” Absent without leave. Also, “a wolf on the loose” or “after women or liquor.”
